Brandon Cutrell & Ray Fellman

For the season finale of their fourth summer of Broadway at the Beach, on August 31 at the Ice Palace, our cherished hosts, singer Brandon Cutrell and pianist Ray Fellman, fielded one star after another, following the opening number, "One Hand in My Pocket," with which they set the tone.

Emmy Award winner and comic Kevin Meaney ("Hairspray") delivered stand-up concerning his Irish Catholic upbringing and coming out late in life, during the run of "Hairspray" ("yes, Broadway does make you gay"); dueted with the recorded voice of Frank Sinatra ("There's an awful lot of coffee in Brazil"); and offered riotous impressions of Johnny Mathis and Ethel Merman singing a duet of "Winter Wonderland" and of the participants in the recording of "We Are the World."

Nick Adams ("Guys and Dolls," "A Chorus Line," "Chicago") sang a sensitive "On the Street Where You Live," from "My Fair Lady," and lent a pure soprano to "There's a little bit of good in everyone," from "Chicago."

Marissa Perry and Kasey Marino, from "Hairspray," the latter making his Broadway at the Beach debut, collaborated on a love duet from "Wicked" ("As long as you're mine"). Marissa favored enthusiastic listeners with her equally enthusiastic "Good morning, Baltimore," and ode to masturbation "Making Love Alone" ("There's a certain special magic to the touch of your own hand"), and Kasey sang an affecting "If I Loved You," from "Carousel."

Ariel Sinclair gave us a touch of religion and a laying on of hands in a Sandy Patty song and declarated, in a power ballad, "My vagina is eight miles wide." Jason Cozmo paid tribute to Julie Andrews, in selections from "The Sound of Music," and Liza Minnelli, professing faith in "New York, New York." DJ Chuck assisted.

Lavinia Draper, wild and wacky alter ego of Susan Campanaro, ran rampant through all or part of "Bridge Over Troubled Waters," "There's Worse Things I Could Do," "Day by Day," "All That Jazz," "Mein Herr," and "Maybe This Time."

Stonewall Sensation Katie Cass, making a Fire Island debut, sang a formidable "Chain of Fools" and Whitney Houston's "I'm Saving All My Love for You."

Kenny Holcomb broke hearts, and the sound barrier, with "Don't Cry Out Loud" and, with Brandon, queried about a two-timing man, "Does he love you the way he loves me?" and followed up with "Because of you."

Robbie Neigeborn gave us a wrenching and very personal take on "The Man That Got Away." Singing his own composition, Gregory Jacobs Roseman paid homage to a favorite MSNBC commentator with "I love you, Rachel Maddow." And Jason and Samuel sang "Wheels of a Dream," from "Ragtime."
