Adam Sank’s “Dirty Laundry,” a show by naked comics and a contortionist, was the featured event on Daniel Nardicio’s Icon Series, at the Ice Palace, on July 21.
“I’ve been a good friend of Daniel Nardicio for years,” said Sank, “by which I mean I go to all of his sex parties.” He was being paid, he said, in drink tickets and “get[ting] to blow one of Daniel’s go-go boys.” Sank talked about his mother’s colonoscopy, and of watching a hetero guy rub his rear against a subway train pole, and explained how a less-than-successful New Year’s Eve date nevertheless provided “some killer material!”
Jason Barker greeted us with, “Welcome to quite possibly the worst production of ‘The Vagina Monologues’ ever” and described his effort as performing “for a bunch of horny gay devils willing to pay to see some penis and hear some jokes.” He then demonstrated a move, called “the Eiffel Tower,” that he learned for his audition for “The Puppetry of the Penis.”
Contortionist Topher twisted himself into a nude pretzel and did tricks with a colorful hula hoop.
A naked joke contest found three audience members stripping and telling jokes.
Neil D’Bear Thornton told us about the very gay wedding that he and his partner are planning, climaxing with Madonna singing “Like a Prayer,” backed by a gospel choir, for the grooms wearing tuxedoes designed by Nasty Pig. There will be a budget for poppers and lube for the bachelor party and the engagement ring is a cock ring engraved with “I like it so I put a ring on it.” Thornton declared, “The main reason we’re going to get married is to piss off Rick Santorum!” He continued, “I love bears. With bears, I don’t have to choose between sex and a bacon cheeseburger—sometimes [there are] both at the same time!”
