Rose Levine, assisted by pianist Jason Wetzel, took the Friars Club by storm on December 8, in her show “Before the Parade Passes By.” Giving us 90 minutes of songs, stories of Friars Club performers, and humor, full on, Rose was in powerful form, including making elaborate costume changes on stage in front of us.
The songs were “I Got Lost in His Arms,” “Maybe This Time,” “Johnny One Note,” “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “I'm Happy,” “New York, New York” and a medley of other New York songs, “Send in the Clowns,” “Broadway Baby,” “I'm Still Here,” “Before the Parade Passes By” and a medley of other Jerry Herman songs, “How Lucky Can You Get,” and “Ten Cents a Dance.”
The show was proceeded by a cocktail hour, complete with hors d’oeuvres.
Rose will be back at the Friars Club, 57 West 55th Street, for an encore of “Before the Parade Passes By,” on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 6 pm for cocktails and 7 pm for the show.
